It is the function of the NOx water high-pressure emulsion package to convey deionised water (demineralised water) with an increased pressure, mass current, temperature and a precisely defined quality in the fuel oil line of the fuel oil pre-mixing system (JOB-VB system), and depending on needs into the advance pipeline of the fuel oil diffusion system (HOE-DB system) of the gas turbine just before the ring lines near the combustion chamber. The emulsion operation causes a compensation balance of flame temperatures. The reduction of local temperature peaks reduces the formation of NOx.
The water from the emulsion is vapourised in the combustion chamber and overheated to the turbine entry temperature. The heating material which is absorbed in the process allows a higher fuel mass flow and equal turbine entry temperature than with a dry running method. This increases the possible capacity of the malleable cast ironc.
